Baby Bath Seat

Baby bath seat are used to keep babies in a stable while in a bathtub. Many parents use baby bath seats to provide flexibility while washing a baby in the bathtub. Suction cups are used to fasten the seat to the base of the tub while holding the baby in a more stable position in water. A lot of these seats have arm like attaches to the side of the bathtub to keep the seat in place.

When are baby bath seats used?
Baby bath seats are suitable for babies between the ages of approximately five to ten months old. At this age, babies often outgrow a baby bath, although they cannot pull themselves up into a standing position. If a baby has the ability to pull themselves up to a standing position, at about 10 months of age, baby bath seats are not needed any longer. It is vital to remember that babies develop at different rates, and the suggested age range for a baby bath seat may not be appropriate for your baby.

Why are baby bath seats important?
Every one who has ever bathed a baby especially the new born ones will know what a challenging task it is when a baby starts struggling under slick soapy water. This is where a baby bath seat comes in handy. While small baby bath tubs that fit into the sink or tub can be convinient for those babies that are not able to wiggle around a lot, babies that are more than two months old can sit up and thereore a baby bath seat becomes really useful.

When a baby is able to sit up on his or her own, giving them a bath becomes even a bigger challenge than you can imagine. Again when a baby reaches several months old, he or she will begin to begin to be really mobile during bath time. This brings a different challenge and therefore yuo will need a different bathing approach. The bath seat is sometimes fixed in the bottom of a usual bath tub or even in the kitchen sink. The base of the bath seat has suctioning cups which form suction with the base of the tub. The openings of the seat at the bottom make way for the baby’s legs plus a back to help hold the baby in position. Some seats may have a seat belt that helps to hold baby upright.
